Zurdok
Zurdok, perhaps one of Mexico's most energetic bands and one that has been heavily influenced by the musical wave affecting the regiomontana region of northern Mexico and that has brought bands that drastically changed the Mexican Rock Scene in the last decade like: Control Machete, Cabrito Vudú, Plastilina Mosh, and Molotov, to name just a few.

Zurdok Movimento was formed on mid '93, and soon earned the title of one of the most wanted in Monterrey. In 1995, they participated on the Mexican version of the "Battle of the Bands" contest on which Zurdok attributed the grand prize of the event excelling over 400 bands from all over the Mexican Republic.

Approximately after a year, Zurdok, was signed by the Mexican label: Discos Manicomio. Their first release under this label called, Antena, hit the stores on mid '97. According to their manager, Fabrizio Onetto, the promotion for this album wasn't appropiate, since many of the band members were still coursing their last years of high school, which in turn had a drastic turn out on the band's development.

In spite of the lack of a suitable promotion, there was great expectation by the upcoming second production of this band. At some point between the first and second album, Zurdok Movimento, decides to shorten its name and being recognized only by the name of Zurdok.

Zurdok's most recent production, Hombre Sintetizador (Synthesizer Man), released in Central and South America by the middle of '99 and just recently edited in the United States this past July 18th. The production was handled by Peter Reardon (known by his works with Coolio), Jose Antonio Farias, Antonio Hernandez (DJ and producer of Control Machete) and by Ricardo Haas (Manager of Resorte). Part of the recording were done in an old abandoned mansion out in the outskirts of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.

The artwork of the album was done by David Garza, guitarist of Zurdok, who has participated in collective exhibitions in Mexico and the United States, and in individual exhibitions in Monterrey.

Hombre Sintetizador (Synthesizer Man), is an album that has been named by varied critics like one of the best ones of the 99, of the decade of 90's of Latin Alternative in Mexico and Latin Alternative in general. Personally, it is an album that one must listen too several times to be able to understand and assimilate it. Unlike Antena, this new production has been promoted properly in Mexico and even in the United States. In June 21 of this year, they were part of the series of concerts, Las Noches del Dragon, in which they left the fans impregnated with their power.
