ˇRock pesado invade Los Ángeles!
By Refugio Guerrero

¿More?
Listen to Los Dioses del Tiempo LIVE.

Hard rock invaded the Whisky a Go Go on June 25, as it was the CD release party for Mexico City's own, Resorte. With many of the group's loyal fans present, the energy was flowing through the place.
At 8 o'clock, Los Dioses del Tiempo celebrated their ninth show in L.A. This young group plays with a lot of energy, and with a huge influence from the great Spaniards, Heroes del Silencio.
They gave a good warm up to the crowd and left the fans asking for more; they complied with the request with a song reminiscent of Senderos de Traición.

Bayu follows up with a tropical blend of music, unfortunately I didn't catch the whole show due to my camera's battery dying, thus forcing me to go buy a new one. Of course there wasn't a store near that had what I needed. So, off I go to NeverNever Land for ONE BATTERY!!!!

After Bayu, it was just a matter of time for Resorte to start their set; the world famous Whisky a Go Go was vibrating with anticipation. Nobody wanted to wait; nobody could wait. The place went from being half full to completely full in a matter of minutes. Everybody's eyes were on the stage, waiting anxiously.

Finally!!

Out comes Tavo, Queso, Juan and Charal, causing delirium in the crowd, the obligatory mosh pit, the jumping about, shouts, sweat, and pure vibes.

They started their set with America, followed by Caliente. The set was so intense that I abandoned my camera and dove into the mosh pit, but about half way through, I remembered I was there for work and went back to my post. They played songs from Republica de Ciegos (Republic of The Blind) such as: J.T.R.B., Ruido, the title track, and a few others, as well as songs from their new release: Zig-Zag, Respeto, and Bastara, among others.

At one point, Juan dove into the crowd, causing a rush to touch him, needless to say, it took him a while to get back on stage.

That the place was completely full, that people were having fun, that the band was playing great, seems like a perfect night, right? Nope, security at the places is the worst, so bad, that Tavo at one point told the security guards to leave the fans alone.

Sometime during the show, I saw a guard appear to be choking a fan, while his hysterical girlfriend looked on.

Resorte, just hearing the name and their music gives me chills from the intensity that the band plays with. They are definitely a group you can see 1,000 times without getting tired of them. Thanks to everyone who helped me that day...

Chido raza.
